Based in Mississauga, Ontario, our collections bring together bright happy design and cozy illustrations (all drawn by hand, never ai!)
We’re big into keeping the whimsy alive and loving hard on all the silly, quirky things that make life fun!
Behind the brand
A personal note from Sam
I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. After studying graphic design at OCAD University in Toronto, my love of jewellery led me to open my own brick and mortar shops. Simple Whimsy started as an in house card line for my stores in 2017. When my shops closed in 2024 Simple Whimsy became my full time passion project and a much welcomed return to my illustration roots. It was a way to refill my cup after years of burnout and reignite my creative spark.
Simple Whimsy brought me back to life after my business closed, allowing me to live slowly and create the things that made me the happiest. That unexpected detour allowed this little business to grow into something I'm so proud of; a Faire Top Shop with cards and stickers stocked and loved in over 1000 stores all over the world
When I’m not illustrating, I’m obsessed with reading, COFFEE, stationery, the Blue Jays, my pug Charlie, and all things coastal and spooky 🌊👻
